There are many entities that offer the GPS mobile phone; one could purchase a specific model or simply pay for that technology for the mapping feature. Another challenge posed to the carriers/manufacturers is that the more the advance features are utilized, the more drained the GPS mobile phone's battery gets. To increase the size of the GPS mobile phone's battery would run counter to majority of consumers who desire much smaller mobile sets.
